Job Description
Hey, g’day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job descriptions can feel a bit formulaic sometimes, but we promise Canva is anything but. If you’re drawn to what we’re building and you see yourself in this role, we’d love to hear from you.
Where and How You Can Work
While our global headquarters is in Sydney, Australia, Munich is home to Canva’s growing enterprise presence in Germany. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals, so you’ll have a say in where and how you work.
What You’d Be Doing in This Role
Leonardo.ai is a generative AI platform that helps creators, designers, game studios and brands produce production-quality images and video in seconds. Since joining the Canva family in 2024, we’re bringing generative AI to more teams and businesses around the world. As an Account Executive on the Leonardo.ai team, you’ll build the relationships and close the deals that bring Leonardo.ai to more organisations across Germany and the DACH region. You’ll be selling to German-speaking customers, so fluency in German is essential. This will give you a flavour of what you’ll be working on when you start, but as we grow, this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on
- Building relationships with potential customers, understanding their creative workflows and needs, and shaping tailored Leonardo.ai solutions to match
- Proactively prospecting and reaching out to target organisations, from game studios and creative agencies to media companies and global brands, using high-touch outbound best practice
- Preparing and delivering pitches and demos, running a structured discovery process, and connecting customer challenges to Leonardo.ai’s features
- Navigating the questions enterprise buyers have about generative AI, like security, IP and responsible use, and working closely with Legal and Security to get deals across the line
- Tracking every stage of your pipeline in our CRM, and handing over new customers to our Success team in great shape
- Partnering with Marketing on events and campaigns that drive new business, and sharing customer feedback that helps shape the Leonardo.ai product roadmap
You’re Probably a Match If
- You’ve got a few years of B2B sales experience, ideally managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through to close, with a track record of hitting or beating your targets
- You’re comfortable initiating conversations with senior stakeholders and can hold your own in a room with multiple decision-makers
- You know how to turn a complex product into a simple, compelling story for the customer in front of you
- You’re organised and can juggle a pipeline of opportunities without letting the details slip
- You’re curious about generative AI and creative tools, and excited to keep learning in a fast-moving space
- You’ve got the right to work in Germany and are fluent in both German and English (written and spoken), as you’ll be pitching, negotiating and building relationships with customers in German
