Director/Sr. Director, Business Development (Enterprise Supply)
Taken at the midpoint of its range, $160,000/yr, this role pays less than the middle Sales Leadership opening on the board today ($198k/yr); the usual band for that kind of seat is $150k–$400k/yr.
The posting
The Sr. Director, Business Development will own the strategy and commercial growth of Nexxen’s self-serve deals platform business for publishers, as well as adoption of other Nexxen products. This leader will turn the platform into a scalable, differentiated growth engine by defining the market opportunity, building executive-level publisher relationships, developing repeatable go-to-market motions, and partnering across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal.
The role combines strategic business development, enterprise sales leadership, ecosystem development, and operating discipline. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable setting a multi-year vision, influencing product priorities, and personally advancing high-value opportunities from origination through launch and expansion.
What You Will Own
- Set and execute the global business plan for the self-serve deals platform, with clear priorities, investment cases, revenue targets, and market milestones.
- Build a durable two-sided ecosystem of premium publishers, CTV/OTT platforms, broadcasters, agencies, brands, and demand partners that increases deal velocity and platform value.
- Partner closely with sales to identify Upfront and Scatter opportunities for our premium publishers.
- Create the enterprise go-to-market strategy, including segmentation, ideal customer profiles, positioning, packaging, pricing, pipeline coverage, and partner/channel motions.
- Lead the most strategic opportunities and negotiations, including executive alignment, commercial structure, contractual terms, implementation planning, and expansion strategy.
- Establish a scalable operating model for self-serve deals - from prospecting and qualification through technical onboarding, activation, optimization, renewal, and cross-sell.
- Serve as the senior internal voice of the publisher, translating market feedback into product requirements and roadmap recommendations.
- Build the business case for resources, partnerships, and product investments; communicate performance, risks, and decisions to senior leadership
Strategy & Market Development
- Define the platform’s category strategy and differentiated value proposition across publisher monetization, curated supply, PMPs, and self-serve deal execution.
- Assess market trends, competitive offerings, partner economics, and customer needs to identify high-conviction growth opportunities.
- Develop annual and quarterly operating plans, including revenue forecasts, pipeline targets, adoption goals, unit economics, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to extend the platform into CTV, smart TV, premium video, data-enabled deals, and other high-growth supply segments.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Originate, qualify, and close strategic partnerships with enterprise publishers, broadcasters, CTV platforms, OEM/TV operating systems, and technology providers.
- Develop executive relationships and multi-year account plans in tandem with Strategic Accounts teams for the highest-value partners, ensuring alignment on commercial goals and joint roadmaps.
- Design and negotiate partnership structures that balance growth, margin, transparency, supply quality, data rights, service levels, and long-term strategic value.
- Create joint business plans, launch plans, and executive business reviews that turn signed agreements into measurable adoption and revenue.
Go-to-Market & Revenue Leadership
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to build repeatable messaging, sales plays, enablement, case studies, and demand-generation programs.
- Create a disciplined pipeline-management process, including stage definitions, qualification standards, deal reviews, forecast accuracy, and close plans.
- Establish the metrics and dashboards needed to manage bookings, revenue, take rate, publisher activation, deal creation, spend, retention, and expansion.
- Coordinate with buy-side
