Revenue operations (RevOps) runs the machinery behind a sales team: the CRM and sales tools, the data and reports, territories, quotas and compensation plans, and the forecast. Analysts and managers in the function keep the systems clean and answer the questions leaders ask; enablement specialists, often in the same team, train the sellers. This guide describes the job as real postings describe it: what revenue operations does, what postings ask for, what the seats pay, and a job description a hiring team can adapt.

On 2 November 2026 this board had 1,007 open revenue operations and enablement roles open to US candidates, with a median posted pay of $159,004 a year; 261 of them had requirement lines read from the posting itself, the sample for the requirements below. Pay figures are the midpoint of each posting's own range on a full year's scale (base or on-target earnings, as the posting states it), one per posting after repeats of the same title at the same company are merged. The revenue operations jobs page lists every open seat.

1. What revenue operations does

  • Runs the systems. Administers the CRM (most often Salesforce or HubSpot) and the tools around it, from quoting to call recording, and keeps the data clean.

5. A job description to adapt

A posting that names the CRM, the size of the sales team and the scope (systems, analytics, planning or enablement) attracts the operators who fit. A starting point:

Revenue Operations Manager

The role. You will run the systems, data and planning behind our [number]-person sales team selling [product] to [buyer].

What you will do. Administer [CRM] and our sales tools; build the dashboards and analyses behind pipeline reviews and the forecast; set territories and quotas with sales leadership; administer commission plans; define deal stages and handoffs.

What we ask for. [N] years in sales or revenue operations, hands-on [CRM] administration, and [SQL or BI tool] for analysis.

Pay. Base [range], with [bonus terms].

Fifteen US jurisdictions require a pay range in the posting itself; the guide Which sales jobs show their pay lists them.

The guide How to hire for revenue operations covers the rest of the hire: scope and level, pay from analyst to head, what to verify and a data exercise for the interview.

6. How these figures were counted

  • The roles: every open revenue operations and enablement role on this board on 2 November 2026 open to US candidates, read from each company's own careers system and checked every hour: 1,007 roles.
  • The requirements: the leading requirement lines read from 261 of those postings (about three lines each); a requirement counts when a line names it.
  • The pay: the midpoint of each posting's own range on a full year's scale, one per posting after repeats of the same title at the same company are merged, and the median across the US postings. "Up to" figures are left out.
