A US revenue operations job posting on this board typically pays $160,000 a year, and the middle half of postings run from $122,500 to $198,500. Revenue operations (RevOps, sales operations, enablement, deal desk and the analysts and administrators behind them) is the one sales seat that is paid almost entirely in salary, and its pay climbs steeply with level: analysts post about $108,000 at the median, directors $224,000 and vice presidents $262,500. This guide breaks the pay down by function, level, product, city and company, and explains what each kind of operations seat does.

On 1 November 2026 this board had 1,809 open revenue operations roles, 1,075 of them open to US candidates, and 784 of those (73%) stated their pay. Every figure below is the midpoint of each posting's own range on a full year's scale, and the median across the postings in each group. Right now the board's revenue operations roles post a median of $158k/yr, with a typical band of $120k/yr to $275k/yr, across 1,775 open roles in every country.

1. The short answer

Measure, US revenue operations roles, 1 Nov 2026Posted pay per year
Median$160,000
Middle half of postings$122,500 to $198,500
Bottom tenth below$90,000
Top tenth above$241,300
Titles saying revenue operations (median)$182,500
Director titles (median)$224,445

Revenue operations pays more at the median than account executive seats ($125,000 across US postings) because most operations seats sit at software and technology companies, and the board holds few of the low-paid field roles that pull other medians down. The guide Account executive salary breaks that seat down the same way.

2. Pay by function

Operations titles describe several different jobs. Grouped by the words the title uses, US postings on 1 November 2026:

Function (title names)US roles posting payMedianMiddle half
Revenue operations (RevOps)83$182,500$150,000 to $215,000
Enablement198$163,500$130,000 to $200,000
Sales compensation31$162,050$122,500 to $206,500
Deal desk and pricing41$156,500$115,625 to $187,000

CRM and systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, CPQ)38$147,250$124,300 to $180,000
  • Revenue operations seats run the whole system behind sales, marketing and customer success: forecasting, pipeline reporting, territories and quotas, the tools and the data. Titles that say revenue operations post the most because they are often the most senior generalists in a company's operations team.
  • Enablement trains and equips sellers: onboarding new reps, product and sales training, playbooks and call coaching. It is the largest operations function on the board.
  • Sales compensation designs and pays the commission plans; deal desk and pricing approves discounts and structures non-standard deals; strategy and planning sets territories, quotas and capacity plans and builds the analysis behind them.
  • CRM and systems seats administer and build the tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, CPQ and the rest), often from a technical background.

3. Pay by seniority

Level (title names)US roles posting payMedianMiddle half
Analyst, specialist, associate or coordinator164$107,950$82,603 to $125,500
Manager289$154,800$132,500 to $179,226
Director107$224,445$197,500 to $251,000
Vice president or head29$262,500$240,350 to $290,000

The step from manager to director is the largest in the table, about $70,000 at the median. The analyst seat is the usual way in, from finance, consulting, data analysis or a sales development role; the guide How to get into sales covers the other first seats.

4. Pay by what the company sells

What the company sellsUS roles posting payMedianMiddle half

Medical devices37$135,000$108,050 to $167,500

AI and data companies post the most, as they do for every sales seat; the guide Tech sales salary compares the software markets across seats.

5. Pay by city and remote

MetroUS roles posting payMedian
San Francisco Bay Area211$190,000
New York165$170,000
Boston36$157,700
Seattle36$144,375
Chicago40$142,500

Remote operations roles posted a median of $154,900 against $162,650 for office roles; 188 of the 784 priced US roles (24%) were remote. Operations teams often sit at headquarters, which is why the San Francisco and New York shares are high. The San Francisco and New York pages list every open sales seat in each city.

6. The companies that post the highest pay

Among companies with at least eight US revenue operations roles posting pay on 1 November 2026, the highest medians were Nscale ($215,000), Palo Alto Networks ($198,500), Salesforce ($188,550), Wolters Kluwer ($185,900), Abbott ($182,500) and GitLab ($167,150). Snowflake ($204,000), ServiceNow ($192,350) and Fireworks AI ($233,000) each had seven. A company's own page on this board lists every open role and the pay it posts.

7. Why operations pay is mostly salary

Operations seats do not carry a quota of their own, so most of the pay is base salary, often with an annual bonus tied to company or team results. Some revenue operations and enablement leaders are paid partly on the sales team's attainment, but a split like an account executive's, close to half variable, is rare. That makes the posted range a closer guide to what you will take home than it is for a quota-carrying seat; equity at a private company comes on top. The guide What is OTE explains how sales pay plans are built.

8. How to judge an offer

  • Compare like with like. An analyst and a director share the same function name and differ by more than $100,000; place the offer by level and function before comparing it with the median.
  • Ask what the bonus pays on. Company results, the sales team's attainment or your own goals: each pays out differently in a bad year.
  • Ask about the stack and the data. A seat that inherits a clean CRM and forecast is a different job from one that has to build them.
  • Ask who you report to. Operations reporting to the head of sales, to finance or to a chief revenue officer shapes what you work on and how you are judged.

9. How these figures were counted

  • The roles: every open revenue operations role on this board on 1 November 2026 (sales and revenue operations, enablement, deal desk, sales compensation, sales strategy and planning, and CRM and sales systems), read from each company's own careers system and checked every hour: 1,809 roles, 1,075 of them open to US candidates and 784 of those stating pay.
  • The pay: the midpoint of each posting's own range on a full year's scale, and the median across the US roles in each group. Functions and levels come from the words in each title; what the company sells comes from the company.

These figures describe one day; the revenue operations page always shows the current roles and pay.
