Sysco

Sysco's sellers work for one of its local operating companies, and the bulk of the job is the street: about eight in ten of the 500 sales titles listed are outside territory seats (sales consultant or sales representative) that build a book of independent restaurants and other kitchens in a set of towns or zip codes, take orders, suggest menu items and push promotions, with travel of up to 75% in some territories. Around them sit district sales managers, new business developers who hunt multi-location and large restaurant prospects worth under $5 million a year using leads from analytics, and contract sales account executives who keep chain and corporate multi-unit customers. About one title in five belongs to a specialty company that sells its own line: FreshPoint produce (including retail account executives), Buckhead and Newport meat and seafood, Greco and Sons Italian specialty, Edward Don equipment and supplies, Guest Worldwide and Sysco Asian Foods. Nearly one in ten titles asks for a second language, mostly Spanish, Mandarin or Hindi, and a handful are entry trainee seats. About nine in ten openings are in the US (446 of 500), led by California, New England, Texas, Florida and the Pacific Northwest, while Canada holds 39 and Ireland and Northern Ireland six.
