Frequently asked questions

How much does a fintech sales seat pay?

Too few of these postings state a pay range for a fair band, so the figure turns on the segment, the territory and your seniority. Every listing that publishes its range shows it, as base salary or OTE.

Do fintech sales jobs require a finance background?

Rarely a license, often familiarity. Postings favour sellers who can talk to a CFO about cash, cost and controls and who have sold to finance teams or to banks before; seats that sell to banks and credit unions name that buyer.

What is different about selling fintech?

Money moves through the product, so the buyer's finance and risk teams sit in every deal beside the people who will use it. Payments companies are often paid a share of what each customer processes, which makes estimating a deal's value part of the sale; spend management and finance software sells on subscription to CFOs and controllers; selling to banks means compliance review and procurement that can outlast a fiscal year.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
