The posting
Know the mission. Understand what's getting in the way. Help shape what comes next.
Leidos Intelligence Sector is seeking a senior leader to help shape the future of our relationship with MPO - one of our largest and most strategically important Intelligence Community customers.
This is an opportunity to join an organization on a double-digit growth trajectory and lead an account that is a major pillar of Leidos' corporate growth strategy. We are looking first for deep mission understanding and strategic judgment: someone who understands where the customer is going, the outcomes it is trying to achieve, and the hardest problems standing in the way.
You may be an accomplished industry executive. Or you may be a current or former government leader considering the next chapter of your career. Deep mission credibility matters more to us than having spent your career in business development. We can build growth tradecraft around the right leader. What is much harder to teach is how the mission really works, where it is going, and what it will take to make a difference.
As MPO Account Manager, you will operate at the intersection of mission challenges and the solution space - connecting customer needs with services, technologies, products, people and investments from across Leidos. You will partner with experienced Business Development, Capture, Operations and Technology leaders to turn mission insight into customer impact and sustained growth.
What You'll Do
- Understand the mission. Develop an unparalleled understanding of MPO's mission, desired outcomes, priorities and evolving direction - and the operational, technical, organizational, policy and acquisition challenges standing in the way.
- Shape the account strategy. Translate that understanding into a multi-year strategy for where Leidos should focus, engage and invest to have the greatest mission and business impact.
- Build exceptional customer intimacy. Develop trusted relationships across MPO leadership, mission, operational, technical and acquisition communities and connect insights across that ecosystem.
- Connect problems with possibilities. Understand the landscape of services, technologies and emerging capabilities that could address customer challenges, then bring together the right expertise from across Leidos and our partners to explore and develop solutions.
- Anticipate what's next. Look beyond today's programs and procurements to identify emerging mission needs, technology shifts and new opportunities where Leidos can create meaningful customer value.
- Turn insight into growth. Partner with experienced BD and Capture professionals to translate mission understanding into focused customer engagements, investment priorities, sales plays and opportunities.
- Be the voice of the customer inside Leidos. Influence where we invest, what we build, how we position our capabilities and how we solve - ensuring our strategies and solutions remain grounded in real mission needs.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Deep understanding of the MPO mission, organization, priorities and evolving operating environment.
- Significant leadership experience within, supporting, or working closely with MPO and the broader Intelligence Community.
- The ability to understand desired mission outcomes, identify the core problems preventing those outcomes, and think creatively about potential solutions.
- Strategic judgment, intellectual curiosity and the ability to structure complex problems and explore alternative approaches.
- Credibility and relationships across relevant mission, technical, leadership and/or acquisition communities.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, connect people and ideas, and lead across organizational boundaries.
- Exceptional executive communication and relationship-building skills.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior government, mission, operational, technical or acquisition leadership experience within MPO or a closely aligned Intelligence Community organization.
- Senior industry experience supporting or shaping the MPO mission.
- Broad exposure to relevant solution areas such as cyber, analytics, AI, mission software, digital modernization and other emerging technologies.
- Experience translating mission challenges into new capabilities, programs, investments or operational approaches.
- Current polygraph or ability to obtain one.
If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling. At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo - because the mission demands it. We're not hiring followers. We're recruiting the ones who disrupt, provoke, and refuse to fail. Step 10 is ancient history. We're already at step 30 - and moving faster than anyone else dares.
