Regional Sales Manager
The posting
We are Wolverine Power Systems, a leader in industrial power solution sales, service, and rentals.
Powering Michigan since 1997, we pride ourselves on an ongoing tradition of providing excellent products and outstanding service for our customers. We are a full-service distributor of Generac equipment and solutions providing sales, service and rentals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with electrical contractors, general contractors, engineers, facility managers, business owners, and end users.
- Identify and pursue new commercial and industrial generator sales opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular in-person customer visits, prospecting calls, and follow-ups to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Work with consulting engineers and contractors to promote Generac products and secure project specifications.
- Review project opportunities, construction bid documents, and customer requirements to identify potential generator sales.
- Coordinate with inside sales to prepare accurate and competitive generator quotations.
- Follow up consistently on open quotations and work to convert opportunities into purchase orders.
- Negotiate pricing and project requirements while maintaining company profitability.
- Maintain accurate customer information, sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts in the company's CRM system.
- Develop monthly sales forecasts and consistently work toward established sales goals and budgets.
- Coordinate with project management, service, and other internal departments to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Address customer concerns professionally and work toward solutions that maintain long-term relationships.
Qualifications
- Previous outside sales experience required; industrial equipment, electrical, construction, or power generation experience preferred.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to understand technical products and communicate their value to customers.
- Proven ability to develop new accounts and grow existing customer relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously.
- Comfortable prospecting, making cold calls, and meeting customers in person.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and results-driven.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with inside sales and other departments.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for more than someone who can simply provide a quote. We want a salesperson who understands the importance of building relationships, following through on commitments, and earning the customer's trust.
The right candidate will
- Be comfortable getting in front of customers and developing new relationships.
- Understand how to win business without always being the lowest price.
- Take ownership of opportunities and consistently follow up until a decision is made.
- Be willing to learn the technical side of industrial generators.
- Be proactive in finding new business rather than waiting for opportunities to come to them.
- Have the drive and accountability to meet and exceed sales goals.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured through sales growth, new business development, customer relationships, sales activity, quote generation, pipeline management, and achievement of monthly and annual sales goals.
Our goal is to build a strong, customer-focused sales team that consistently grows market share while delivering outstanding service and long-term value to our customers.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
