Taken at the midpoint of its range, $300,000/yr, this role pays more than the middle Account Executive opening on the board today ($125k/yr); the usual band for that kind of seat is $81.6k–$315k/yr.

About Basis

Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world.

We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale.

Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders.

"Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They've pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." - Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI

The Role

Basis is hiring a Strategic Account Executive to win new revenue within a small set of our largest and most strategic accounting-firm accounts. This is a quota-carrying role for a seller who can manage a complex enterprise deal while building the durable, multi-threaded relationships required to earn trust inside a global professional-services organization and expand our revenue base and business line footprint.

You will own the full commercial motion - from account research and opportunity creation through discovery, solutioning, negotiation, and close. You will work closely with a Strategic Account Partner, who will help deepen and coordinate the long-term account relationship. You remain accountable for revenue: creating momentum, advancing the buying process, forecasting accurately, and closing high-value new and expansion business.

Success requires more than running a disciplined sales process. You will build relationships across executive, business, technical, legal, procurement, and delivery stakeholders; translate Basis’s capabilities into firm-level priorities; and orchestrate the right Basis resources to move a deal forward.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own a named portfolio of strategic accounting-firm accounts, with clear accountability for new revenue and expansion.
  • Build and execute multi-year account and opportunity plans that map the firm’s priorities, buying centers, stakeholders, use cases, competitive dynamics, and path to revenue.
  • Leverage existing relationships to prospect into and create demand across large, complex organizations; develop relationships with executive sponsors, senior functional leaders, technical teams, and economic buyers.
  • Lead the full enterprise sales cycle, including discovery, business-case development, solution alignment, pilots or evaluations, commercial strategy, negotiation, procurement, legal, security, and close.
  • Run disciplined, multi-threaded deal processes with clear next steps, mutual action plans, stakeholder alignment, and accurate pipeline and forecast management.
  • Partner with the Strategic Account Partner to build relationship depth and account coverage, coordinate account strategy, and convert long-term partnership potential into near- and long-term revenue.
  • Orchestrate Basis executives, Solution Consultants, Deployed Intelligence, Customer Success, Product, Partnerships, Marketing, Legal, and Revenue Operations to remove blockers and advance opportunities.
  • Communicate the value of AI agents in the context of accounting-firm workflows, firm economics, risk, and client-service priorities; tailor the narrative to each buying audience.
  • Represent Basis at customer meetings, executive forums, and industry events, strengthening our strategic position within target accounts.
  • Help codify the strategic sales motion by sharing account insights, successful plays, and market feedback with the broader GTM team.

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of quota-carrying B2B software sales experience, with a demonstrated record of closing complex enterprise deals and consistently achieving or exceeding quota.
  • Experience selling into strategic or named accounts, ideally global professional-services firms, top accounting firms, or similarly complex enterprise organizations.
  • Proven ability to build executive relationships and navigate large, matrixed organizations with multiple buying centers and long, non-linear sales cycles.
  • Strength in creating and executing account strategies, opening new opportunities, managing multi-stakeholder buying committees, and moving complex deals from first conversation through close.
  • Experience leading six-figure-plus ACV transactions and navigating formal procurement, legal, security, and commercial review processes.
  • Exceptional consultative selling and discovery skills, with the ability to connect an emerging technology to measurable business outcomes and strategic priorities.
  • Executive presence and strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to partners, C-suite leaders, finance, operations, technology, legal, and procurement stakeholders.
  • A collaborative operating style: you can quarterback cross-functional teams while making ownership and accountability explicit.
  • Resourcefulness, high urgency, and sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

What we’d love to see

  • Direct experience selling to Big Four or other global accounting and consulting firms.
  • Experience selling AI, automation, workflow, data, or other complex technology into the office of the CFO, accounting, audit, tax, advisory, or professional-services teams.
  • Familiarity with enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDIC or similar.
  • Experience at a high-growth company, with a builder mindset and an interest in shaping a new strategic-account sales motion.
