Altruist's buyers are independent advisors and RIAs, and what its reps put in front of them is a custodian with trading, fee billing and reporting built in, an investing shelf (model marketplace, direct indexing, alternatives, tax management, high-yield cash, securities-based lending) and Hazel, an AI tool for advisors. Selling runs through a team called Client Development, split into regional field territories, an internal sales desk in Culver City, an enterprise segment for $1B-plus RIAs, aggregators and acquisition-driven roll-ups, and a separate partnerships seat for Hazel covering broker-dealers, aggregators and technology integrations. Of its 17 sales openings, 6 are quota-carrying sales executives (five regional, one senior enterprise seller), 5 are onboarding and support roles in Customer Success, 2 are senior product specialists who carry the investment products into field meetings, and the rest are an internal sales consultant, an internal sales manager, a founding enterprise solutions engineer and a director of partnerships. The five regional territories are Great Lakes, New York and New Jersey, Northern California with Nevada, the Pacific Northwest and the Southeast, each tied to the states it names. Every opening is in the US: seven are home-based, nine sit in Culver City (Los Angeles) or Dallas, where the onboarding roles ask for three office days a week, and the Hazel role is four days a week in San Francisco.
