About Sandstone
Sandstone is on a mission to elevate in-house legal from a support function into a true strategic partner. From day one, we’ve been clear about what we are - and are not. We are not replacing in-house legal teams. We are building a platform that amplifies them.

We unify legal data, power end-to-end workflows, and organize business context within the tools teams already use. Sandstone is the home for AI-native legal departments.
Today, Sandstone is trusted by Fortune 500 companies and fast-growing innovators alike. We ship quickly, iterate relentlessly, and scale with intention.
When you join Sandstone, you become part of a team that believes deeply in the compounding power of collaboration, rigorous problem-solving, and obsessive attention to detail. Our engineering team is elite, our lawyers ship code every day, and we are dedicated to building the most delightful product an in-house lawyer opens in the morning - and closes at the end of the day.
We work five days a week out of our offices in the Lower East Side. Dogs welcome; shoes optional; chess encouraged.
The Role
We're hiring a Founding Sales Development Representative to support our sales organization and pipeline generation. This is a role focused on owning and shaping our outbound motion, dedicated to pipeline creation and qualification. We have super ambitious growth goals over the next twelve months, and your work will be a vital part of getting to where we need to go. You'll also work inside our sales process alongside our co-founders, Associate AEs and AEs, and you will get a front-row seat to what it takes to run and close deals at a high-growth startup. Beyond sales, you'll get exposure to post-sales, partnerships, marketing, customer strategy and more within our team.
You’ll have a clear path within 12 months to an Associate AE or AE seat, depending on experience, performance and our business’s hiring needs.
What you'll work on
- Build the process around how we execute outbound lead generation at scale.
- Execute multi-channel, high-volume outbound (through calls, emails, social media channels, in-person events) to our target customer and personas without lots of hand holding.
- Source and qualify leads, understanding their needs and determining how Sandstone can address their challenges.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop, refine, and test lead generation strategies.
- Feed intel back to the team: document and share what you’re hearing in the market so we can learn from it.
- Contribute to pipeline reporting, data hygiene, and process documentation.
What we're looking for
- Prior experience in sales development, lead generation, or a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to quickly grasp and articulate complex technological concepts.
- Driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a passion for sales.
- Experience building with generative AI tools, LLMs, or prompt engineering for sales research, email drafting, and workflow automation (e.g., building reusable prompts or custom GPT/Claude projects).
- Comfort working in an environment where processes are still being built, and creativity to build new processes from scratch.
- Ownership mentality - you'll have real responsibility from the start.
- Experience in legal tech, enterprise SaaS, or sales operations is a plus, but not a requirement.
Working at Sandstone: Benefits & Perks
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; 401K
- 12 weeks paid parental leave
- Flexible time off (20+ days PTO)
- Annual learning & development stipend
- Technology stipend, including unlimited spend on AI tooling
- Daily lunch for in-office team members
At Sandstone, we value high ownership, flexibility, and curiosity. You'll have an outsized impact, work closely with ambitious colleagues, and help transform how legal teams work for the modern age.
