Trauma, joints, sports medicine and spine

Orthopedic Sales Jobs

, SalesJobs. Now lists 320 open orthopedic sales roles on , among them Medtronic, Globus Medical and Johnson & Johnson.

Open sales seats at makers of medical devices whose titles name an orthopedic line (trauma, joint replacement, sports medicine, spine, foot and ankle, extremities and CMF), read from each company's own careers page. Each employer's careers system is read again every hour, so a seat it fills drops off this page at the next read.

Job seekers never pay to use this board. An Apply button opens the employer's own application page, or the page of the recruiting firm filling the seat; only where a company or its recruiting firm pays us for a hire who came from here does that link carry our referral code, and the fee comes from them, never out of the base or OTE the role offers you.

Ask before you sign

Ask how much of the pay is commission once you own a territory, whether the associate seat has a set path and date to a territory, how many surgeons and hospitals the territory covers, and how often it takes trauma call at night and on weekends. Few orthopedic postings state their pay, so the band on this page comes from the ones that do.

Posted pay for each kind of seat

Each row's band comes from that kind's own open postings in this market, by the method behind every band on the board (from the 25th percentile of the midpoints of posted ranges (each counted as yearly pay, a rate per hour at 2,080 hours) to the 90th percentile of their top ends); a row needs three distinct posted ranges before it gets one. Every figure is yearly pay in US dollars; where a posting quotes a rate per hour, week or month, it is multiplied by 2,080, 52 or 12 to make a full-time year (40 hours over 52 weeks).

Frequently asked questions

How much does a orthopedic sales seat pay?

Too few of these postings state a pay range for a fair band, so the figure turns on the segment, the territory and your seniority. Every listing that publishes its range shows it, as base salary or OTE.

How do you get into orthopedic sales?

Through an associate seat or a summer internship, which device makers fill with graduates, former athletes, military veterans and people from other sales jobs who can show they work hard and learn fast. A science degree helps but is rarely required. Expect to pass hospital vendor credentialing (vaccinations and background checks) and to live inside the territory. The years and degrees today's open roles name are counted on this page. Counting the requirement lines of 67 open orthopedic sales roles, 1 a master's or an MBA, 53 a bachelor's or some degree and 13 mention no degree at all.

What does an orthopedic sales rep do?

Sells implants and instruments to surgeons and hospitals in a territory, and is in the operating room during cases to support the surgeon and the staff with the right sizes and instruments. Trauma seats take calls around the clock, since fractures arrive as emergencies; joint replacement and spine seats follow scheduled surgeries. Most companies hire associate sales representatives who cover cases and learn the products for one to three years before taking a territory of their own. On 1 November 2026 Stryker, Smith+Nephew and Johnson & Johnson MedTech had the most open orthopedic sales roles, and about a third of the US seats were associate roles.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. Medtronic, Globus Medical, Johnson & Johnson and Stryker are among the employers on this page. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
