Open sales seats at companies that make drugs and biologics (specialty, oncology, rare disease, hospital, vaccines and primary care medicines), read from each company's own careers page. Each employer's careers system is read again every hour, so a seat it fills drops off this page at the next read.

Job seekers never pay to use this board. An Apply button opens the employer's own application page, or the page of the recruiting firm filling the seat; only where a company or its recruiting firm pays us for a hire who came from here does that link carry our referral code, and the fee comes from them, never out of the base or OTE the role offers you.

Ask before you sign

Ask what share of the territory's prescribers you can see in person, how the bonus is measured (market share, prescriptions or revenue) and paid, and how the product's place with insurers in your territory affects what you can sell.

Pay by kind of sales work

Each row's band comes from that kind's own open postings in this market, by the method behind every band on the board (from the 25th percentile of the midpoints of posted ranges (each counted as yearly pay, a rate per hour at 2,080 hours) to the 90th percentile of their top ends); a row needs three distinct posted ranges before it gets one. Every figure is yearly pay in US dollars; where a posting quotes a rate per hour, week or month, it is multiplied by 2,080, 52 or 12 to make a full-time year (40 hours over 52 weeks).

Companies are listed by what an application there is worth to you, and one that pays us a fee for hires sent from here gets a lift in that order; the fee never touches the base or OTE a company offers.

Frequently asked questions

What do pharmaceutical sales jobs pay?

The open pharmaceutical sales roles carry 792 separate posted pay ranges. The middle of that market is $125k–$254k/yr and its median $171k/yr, each figure the range a posting states, base or OTE as it labels it. The richest posting tops out at $470k/yr, at IQVIA. 543 of the 1,338 leave pay out, which usually means the number comes up at the recruiter screen.

Do you need a science degree to sell pharmaceuticals?

Rarely a requirement, often a plus. Specialty and rare disease seats ask for years of selling to the same kind of specialist, and launch seats ask for a record with a new product; entry seats ask for a record of beating a number and a clean driving record. A degree in the life sciences helps you talk to physicians, but the screen is mostly on selling within compliance.

What does a pharmaceutical sales rep do now?

Educates prescribers about a medicine within what its label and the law allow, in a territory of clinics and hospitals, and increasingly through video calls and the practice staff who manage access. Most open seats today are specialty ones (oncology, immunology, neurology, rare disease) that call on a short list of specialists and work with payers, specialty pharmacies and patient support teams; primary care seats are fewer than a decade ago.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. Amylyx, Deciphera, Gilead and Mineralys Therapeutics are among the employers on this page. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
