About Crux

Crux's commercial people sell capital rather than software: the firm arranges, advises on and invests across the clean energy capital stack (transferable tax credits, tax equity, preferred equity and project debt) for developers, manufacturers and sponsors on one side and corporate tax investors, banks and institutional lenders on the other, with deal staff licensed under its own broker-dealer (the FINRA SIE, Series 79 or Series 7, and Series 63). Its site counts more than 225 closed transactions. The biggest block of its six sales-titled openings is debt capital markets: a Principal and a Senior Principal who each run a book of debt mandates from indication of interest to close (construction, term and back-leverage loans, bridge loans, green bonds) against the debt team's revenue targets, plus a structuring associate who works under them. Bank coverage is its own desk, where a Senior Manager, Strategic Bank Capital helps the desk head manage banks' investor, treasury and principal investing groups as buyers and keeps that pipeline clean in the CRM. Two seats open newer revenue lines: a Senior Director of Partnerships who leads four people and a referral, product and research program with Big 4 and mid-market accounting firms, AmLaw firms, insurance brokers and engineers, and a Director of Business Development who must build full-cycle sales of subscription research to utilities, developers, commodity trading desks and institutional investors largely from scratch. All six are remote in the US (Canada is also allowed), with optional offices in Washington DC, New York and San Francisco.

Each posting quotes yearly cash compensation in loose bands, before equity: $275,000 to $350,000 or more for the Senior Director of Partnerships, with bonus targets it can beat; the $300,000s to the $500,000s for a Principal in debt capital markets, sized by experience and revenue scope; the $200,000s to the $300,000s for the bank capital senior manager; and the $275,000s to the $350,000s, bonus included, for the research business development director. The structuring associate sits in the $150,000s to the $200,000s. No posting splits base from variable or names a commission rate.
