Open sales seats at companies in industry, distribution and building systems whose titles name heating, cooling or building controls (HVAC equipment, service agreements, chillers and building automation), read from each company's own careers page. Each employer's careers system is read again every hour, so a seat it fills drops off this page at the next read.

Job seekers never pay to use this board. An Apply button opens the employer's own application page, or the page of the recruiting firm filling the seat; only where a company or its recruiting firm pays us for a hire who came from here does that link carry our referral code, and the fee comes from them, never out of the base or OTE the role offers you.

Ask before you sign

Ask whether the seat sells service agreements, new equipment or both, how commission is paid on multi-year agreements and on projects that take months to bill, and whether the territory comes with existing accounts. Most HVAC postings here state their pay, and the band on this page is theirs.

Posted pay for each kind of seat

Each row's band comes from that kind's own open postings in this market, by the method behind every band on the board (from the 25th percentile of the midpoints of posted ranges (each counted as yearly pay, a rate per hour at 2,080 hours) to the 90th percentile of their top ends); a row needs three distinct posted ranges before it gets one. Every figure is yearly pay in US dollars; where a posting quotes a rate per hour, week or month, it is multiplied by 2,080, 52 or 12 to make a full-time year (40 hours over 52 weeks).

Frequently asked questions

How much does a HVAC sales seat pay?

The open HVAC sales roles carry 103 separate posted pay ranges. The middle of that market is $96.5k–$164k/yr and its median $105k/yr, each figure the range a posting states, base or OTE as it labels it. The richest posting tops out at $600k/yr, at EquipmentShare. 53 of the 176 leave pay out, which usually means the number comes up at the recruiter screen.

Do you need technical experience for HVAC sales?

For sales engineer and project seats, usually: a degree in mechanical engineering or years as a technician or estimator helps you read drawings and size equipment. Service and counter seats hire people from other sales jobs and from the trades, and several manufacturers run paid technical sales trainee programs for graduates (Johnson Controls' trainee program had 18 open US seats on 1 November 2026). The years and degrees today's open roles name are counted on this page. Counting the requirement lines of 45 open HVAC sales roles, 17 a bachelor's or some degree and 28 mention no degree at all.

What does an HVAC sales job involve?

Three kinds of seat share the name. Service account managers sell maintenance and repair agreements for the heating and cooling systems already in a building, and renew them; equipment and project sales engineers sell new systems (chillers, rooftop units, controls) to building owners, mechanical contractors and engineers on construction and replacement projects; counter and inside reps sell parts and equipment to contractors at a distributor's branch. On 1 November 2026 Johnson Controls, Carrier and Daikin Applied had the most open HVAC sales roles, and the most common US title was commercial HVAC service account manager.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. EquipmentShare, Texas AirSystems, Bosch Home Comfort and Dover are among the employers on this page. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
