Based on 521 distinct posted pay ranges, at 25 companies, every range put on a yearly basis (a rate per hour × 2,080 hours). 367 of the 1,112 openings here list no pay; 13 name only a top figure ("up to $X") and are not counted.

Open sales seats at companies that sell to construction and buildings (equipment rental companies, building products makers and distributors, building systems companies, roofing and remodeling contractors and construction software makers), read from each company's own careers page. A role counts here whatever its title says. Each employer's careers system is read again every hour, so a seat it fills drops off this page at the next read.

Job seekers never pay to use this board. An Apply button opens the employer's own application page, or the page of the recruiting firm filling the seat; only where a company or its recruiting firm pays us for a hire who came from here does that link carry our referral code, and the fee comes from them, never out of the base or OTE the role offers you.

Ask before you sign

Ask whether the seat sells to contractors, building owners or homeowners, whether the territory comes with accounts, how commission is paid on rentals and on jobs that bill over months, and how much of the pay is base. Some in-home sales postings advertise what reps could earn ('up to' a figure); this page leaves those ceilings out of its pay band.

Posted pay for each kind of seat

Each row's band comes from that kind's own open postings in this market, by the method behind every band on the board (from the 25th percentile of the midpoints of posted ranges (each counted as yearly pay, a rate per hour at 2,080 hours) to the 90th percentile of their top ends); a row needs three distinct posted ranges before it gets one. Every figure is yearly pay in US dollars; where a posting quotes a rate per hour, week or month, it is multiplied by 2,080, 52 or 12 to make a full-time year (40 hours over 52 weeks).

Requirements named in the postings

Tallied from the requirement lines of 129 out of 1,593 open construction sales roles, the lines a role's pop-up quotes from the posting itself. A seat is counted once, under the lowest degree it accepts.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a construction sales seat pay?

The open construction sales roles carry 521 separate posted pay ranges. The middle of that market is $60k–$190k/yr and its median $89.8k/yr, each figure the range a posting states, base or OTE as it labels it. The richest posting tops out at $375k/yr, at PermitFlow. 367 of the 1,112 leave pay out, which usually means the number comes up at the recruiter screen.

Do you need construction experience to get a construction sales job?

Not for the entry seats: United Rentals' sales development program, Johnson Controls' technical sales trainee program (58 open US seats on 2 November 2026) and the inside and counter seats at distributors hire from other sales jobs, the trades, the military and college. Outside seats usually ask for years selling to contractors in the territory, and building systems seats for working knowledge of the equipment. The years and degrees today's open roles name are counted on this page. Counting the requirement lines of 129 open construction sales roles, 58 a bachelor's or some degree and 71 mention no degree at all.

What do construction sales reps sell, and to whom?

Four kinds of seat make up most of the market. Equipment rental reps call on contractors at their jobsites to rent machines and tools; building products seats at distributors and makers sell plumbing, roofing, siding and doors to contractors from a branch counter, by phone or in a territory; building systems seats sell service agreements, equipment and controls for elevators, doors and heating and cooling to building owners and facility managers; and remodeling and roofing contractors' consultants sell new roofs, windows and baths to homeowners in their homes. On 2 November 2026 United Rentals, Johnson Controls, Renuity, Sunbelt Rentals and Ferguson had the most open US construction sales roles, and outside sales representative was the most common title.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. PermitFlow, Renewal by Andersen, Miter and ARCO/Murray are among the employers on this page. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
