Open sales seats whose titles say outside, field, territory or route sales: seats that visit customers at their offices, job sites, clinics and stores across a territory. Each employer's careers system is read again every hour, so a seat it fills drops off this page at the next read.

Job seekers never pay to use this board. An Apply button opens the employer's own application page, or the page of the recruiting firm filling the seat; only where a company or its recruiting firm pays us for a hire who came from here does that link carry our referral code, and the fee comes from them, never out of the base or OTE the role offers you.

Ask before you sign

Ask how large the territory is in miles and in accounts, how the car, fuel and phone are paid, whether you inherit accounts or start from zero, and whether commission keeps paying on reorders from customers you won.

Posted pay for each kind of seat

Each row's band comes from that kind's own open postings in this market, by the method behind every band on the board (from the 25th percentile of the midpoints of posted ranges (each counted as yearly pay, a rate per hour at 2,080 hours) to the 90th percentile of their top ends); a row needs three distinct posted ranges before it gets one. Every figure is yearly pay in US dollars; where a posting quotes a rate per hour, week or month, it is multiplied by 2,080, 52 or 12 to make a full-time year (40 hours over 52 weeks).

Requirements named in the postings

Frequently asked questions

How much does a outside sales seat pay?

The open outside sales roles carry 953 separate posted pay ranges. The middle of that market is $72.5k–$237k/yr and its median $100k/yr, each figure the range a posting states, base or OTE as it labels it. The richest posting tops out at $600k/yr, at EquipmentShare. 1,157 of the 2,402 leave pay out, which usually means the number comes up at the recruiter screen.

What do outside sales jobs ask for?

Nearly always a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, often overnight travel, and usually a year or more of sales or trade experience: knowing what the customers use (equipment, building materials, medical supplies) counts as much as a quota record. How many of today's open roles ask for a license is counted on this page. Counting the requirement lines of 145 open outside sales roles, 1 a master's or an MBA, 52 a bachelor's or some degree and 92 mention no degree at all.

What does an outside sales rep do?

Runs a territory on the road. An outside rep plans a week of visits to customers and prospects, meets buyers where they work (a job site, a clinic, a shop floor, a store), shows the product in person and keeps the relationship for years. Distributors, equipment rental firms, building products and medical device makers hire most of these seats, often with a car allowance or mileage on top of base and commission.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. Qumulo, Flow Engineering, Deciphera and NVIDIA are among the employers on this page. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
