Open sales seats whose titles say inside: inside sales representatives, inside account executives and managers, and inside business development seats that sell by phone, email and video instead of on the road. Each employer's careers system is read again every hour, so a seat it fills drops off this page at the next read.

Job seekers never pay to use this board. An Apply button opens the employer's own application page, or the page of the recruiting firm filling the seat; only where a company or its recruiting firm pays us for a hire who came from here does that link carry our referral code, and the fee comes from them, never out of the base or OTE the role offers you.

Ask before you sign

The same title pays very differently by employer: a distributor's inside rep may earn a salary with a small bonus, while a software inside AE carries a quota and commission. Ask what share of the pay is variable, how many calls or meetings a day are expected and whether the seat leads to an outside territory.

Pay by kind of sales work

Each row's band comes from that kind's own open postings in this market, by the method behind every band on the board (from the 25th percentile of the midpoints of posted ranges (each counted as yearly pay, a rate per hour at 2,080 hours) to the 90th percentile of their top ends); a row needs three distinct posted ranges before it gets one. Every figure is yearly pay in US dollars; where a posting quotes a rate per hour, week or month, it is multiplied by 2,080, 52 or 12 to make a full-time year (40 hours over 52 weeks).

What these postings ask for

Tallied from the requirement lines of 38 out of 782 open inside sales roles, the lines a role's pop-up quotes from the posting itself. A seat is counted once, under the lowest degree it accepts.

Frequently asked questions

What do inside sales jobs pay?

The open inside sales roles carry 179 separate posted pay ranges. The middle of that market is $50.6k–$153k/yr and its median $62.5k/yr, each figure the range a posting states, base or OTE as it labels it. The richest posting tops out at $391k/yr, at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. 557 of the 782 leave pay out, which usually means the number comes up at the recruiter screen.

Do inside sales jobs take people without sales experience?

More often than most closing seats. Inside sales is one of the common ways into the profession: many postings ask for a year of customer-facing work and ease on the phone, and some train from scratch. The years and credentials today's open roles name are counted on this page. Counting the requirement lines of 38 open inside sales roles, 8 a bachelor's or some degree and 30 mention no degree at all.

What does an inside sales rep do?

Sells from a desk. An inside rep lives on the phone, a dialer, email and video calls, has more customer conversations in a day than a field rep has in a week, and usually owns a book of smaller accounts or a stream of inbound leads. Many inside seats sit at distributors and manufacturers, quoting and reordering for customers an outside rep visits; others are software seats under an older name.

Are these openings real?

Each one is read from the employer's own careers system (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and the like), and Apply takes you to that company's application. Plaid, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Trace3 and Box are among the employers on this page. A real employer never charges you for training, a starter kit or a background check; the scam checker lists the other warning signs of a fake offer.
